It’s a wonderful life (A movie about coping with life’s uncertainty)

The movie ‘It’s a wonderful life’ was directed by Frank Capra and released in 1946. ‘It’s a wonderful life tells the story of a man who thoughtless of himself because of his background. He saw himself as a “nobody” and felt he was a failure.

The movie which was based on the story The Greatest Gift by Philip Van Doren Stern had James Stewart, Donna Reed, Lionel Barrymore as casts. Other casts of It’s a wonderful life were Thomas Mitchell, Henry Travers, Beulah Bondi, Frank Faylen and Ward Bond.

The movie won two awards; Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Director (1947): Frank Capra and was Selected for Registry by the National Film Preservation Board (1990).

The major character, George Bailey (cast by James Stewart) runs his town’s saving and loan after the demise of his father. Though he had in his childhood vowed not to allow himself to become a part of such life, but failed.

Disaster soon struck at Bailey; he lost the savings and loan, and almost his home. He then resorted to committing suicide. His life changed at this point when an angel appeared to him.
