a poem of sympathy

They say love don’t cost a thing
In my case it is all a lie
It cost my pride
And then my heart
Then it went for my mind
Crippled my soul
And dashed my feelings
If love don’t cost a thing
Why do I feel this load
On my chest pressing
Laying my soul to rest
At the bottom of my heart
Those tears you see dropping
And the sweat pouring
Aren’t just waste from my body
All my strength has been drained
