Our society is characterized by several attributes as a result of our belief and differences. There is a narrow difference between good and evil.

Below are some social issues and what famous writer and researcher have to say.

Abortion

Abortions will not let you forget.
You remember the children you got that you did not get.
Gwendolyn Brooks

Most women decide to have abortions reluctantly, and with trepidation, as the lesser of two evils. No woman has an abortion for fun.
Joan Smith

Bribery

I have often noticed that a bribe…has that effect—it changes a relation. The man who offers a bribe gives away a little of his own importance; the bribe once accepted, he becomes the inferior, like a man who has paid for a woman.
Graham Greene

Civil Right

Black is beautiful when it is a slum kid studying to enter college…or a slum mother battling to give her kids a chance for a better life. But white is beautiful, too, when it helps to change society to make our system work for black people.
Whitney M. Young, Jr.

The law regards man as man and takes no account of his surroundings or of his color when his civil rights as guaranteed by the supreme law of the land are involved.
John Marshall Harlan

Equality

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

George Orwell

George Orwell

I thought a woman was a free agent, as well as a man, and was born free, and could she manage herself suitably, might enjoy that liberty to as much purpose as the men do; that the laws of matrimony were indeed otherwise…and those such that a woman gave herself entirely away from herself, in marriage, and capitulated only to be, at best, but an upper servant.
Daniel Defoe

Freedom

A man should never put on his best trousers when he goes out to battle for freedom and truth.
Henrik Ibsen
The price of freedom can never be too high.
Joshua Nkomo
Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves.

Abraham Lincoln

Gossip

I remember that a wise friend of mine did usually say, ‘that which is everybody’s business is nobody’s business.’
Izaak Walton
People who mistake facts for ideas are incomplete thinkers; they are gossips.
Cynthia Ozick

Injustice

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
In doing good, we are generally cold, and languid, and sluggish; and of all things afraid of being too much in the right. But the works of malice and injustice are quite in another style. They are finished with a bold, masterly hand.
Edmund Burke

Law

Every law is an evil, for every law is an infraction of liberty.
Jeremy Bentham
It is only those with the deepest pockets who can risk going to law.
Harry Woolf

Murder

Believe this, that it is no more harm for you to kill a man, who is trying to kill you, than it is for you to take a drink of water when thirsty; in fact, the man who will stand still and let another murder him, is worse than an infidel, and, if he has common sense, ought not to be pitied.
David Walker
There are two kinds of blood, the blood that flows in the veins and the blood that flows out of them.
Julian Tuwim

Nepotism

A strong and capable leader can stand on their own two feet. A wimpy puppet of a leader needs to have their father, their father-in-law, mother, mother-in-law, sister, nursemaid, paid ‘yes’ people, etc. prop him up. That’s fine if he is a baby, but not fine when he is a grown man. If he is capable of leading a company without the help of nepotism, then his workers will respect him and naturally get motivated to support him as a leader.

Kailin Gow

At the root of every form of ungodliness, injustice, nepotism, selfishness, every rivalry and competitive jealousy, is the monster called greed.”
