“Why do you leave me” is a poem about the pain of losing a loved one. The poet explains the feeling of loneliness and emptiness that death creates in the life of those alive.
Why did you have to leave me?
When all my world was crashing down before me
You were to comfort me
Why did you leave me?
You seemed to be fine as I sat there and held you
You meant the world to me and you have to go
But as I sit here I won’t let you leave my heart
Day after day I sit; will you be there waiting for me
Up in heaven
And if you are near all I want is to see you just one last time
